Edda's family was forced to flee their home. They went into hiding, but they were eventually caught and sent to a concentration camp. Edda was separated from her parents and sent to a children's camp. She was forced to work long hours and was often beaten. But she never gave up hope.

In 1945, the war ended and Edda was liberated. She was reunited with her parents and they eventually emigrated to England. Edda never forgot the horrors she had witnessed during the Holocaust.
